During your fitting, your fitter will discuss the types of alterations that are needed to achieve your desired fit and will pin your garment so that you can envision what the end result will look like! Following this, your fitter will provide you with a quote for alterations.

  • How long will my fittings last? How many fittings will I need?

    Our standard fitting appointment lasts for 30 minutes. If you feel you might need more time or have specific requests, please feel free to ask our friendly staff at the front desk, and we'll be happy to accommodate your needs based on appointment availability.

    The number of fittings required depends on the complexity of your garment and the alterations needed. Typically, we aim for one fitting and then proceed to your garment's final try-on and pick-up. However, in some cases, a second fitting may be necessary. We'll always communicate this with you before moving forward with any additional alterations.

  • Can I customize my garment?

    At Alts, we're passionate about creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Feel free to bring your ideas into our shop for a personalized consultation. We'll collaborate with you to explore the best ways to customize your clothing and bring your vision to life.

  • What alterations can be made to my garment?

    The alterations that can be made to your garment depend on your specific needs and preferences. At Alts, we offer a wide range of tailoring services, including but not limited to: Adjusting fit, hemming, sleeve alterations, darting, zipper and button replacement, lining repair or replacement, repairs and patching, customizations, and more! To determine the alterations needed for your garment, we recommend scheduling a fitting and consultation with our experienced team. We'll assess your garment and discuss your preferences to provide tailored recommendations for achieving your ideal look and fit.

  • What should I bring with me to my fitting?

    When coming in for your fitting appointment, it's helpful to bring the following items with you:

    1. The Garment to be Altered: Please bring the specific clothing item that you would like to have altered. This allows our fitter to assess it accurately and make precise recommendations.

    2. Undergarments: Wear the undergarments or shapewear that you intend to pair with the garment. This ensures that the alterations take into account the fit with your preferred underlayers.

    3. Shoes: If your garment involves alterations to the length, such as hemming pants or a dress, bring the shoes you plan to wear with it. This helps our fitter determine the appropriate length for your garment.

    4. Accessories: If you have accessories, such as a belt or jewelry, that you plan to wear with the garment, it can be helpful to bring them along to see how they complement the final look.

  • How far in advance should I schedule my fitting? Do you offer rush services?

    You can book an appointment as far in advance as you'd like. We recommend you come in as soon as you know you need alterations so that we do not have to rush anything! However, we understand that sometimes we need things done quickly! We will do our best to accommodate rush requests and the team will communicate with you transparently on what can be done.

  • Which of your studios are wheelchair accessible?

Our experienced team of professionals offers expert alterations and tailoring for your wedding and wedding party. We can handle everything from alterations for the bride and groom to adjustments for bridesmaids and groomsmen, with attention to detail for a picture-perfect wedding day look.

Alts prides itself on presenting studio spaces featuring minimalist design, ample natural lighting, soothing scents and carefully curated music to provide our clients with a sense of sophistication. Our large fitting rooms are an ideal space to try on garments in comfort and style while experiencing our unique and highly personalized tailoring services. Wedding Party Alterations

For bridal alterations, we recommend starting the process approximately 14 weeks before your wedding date. You’ll have two appointments, with your last being four weeks before your wedding date. Our standard alterations include front hem, bustle, cups and side seam alterations from under the arm through the natural waist of the dress. Extra modifications come at an added cost to the base fee. We also offer rush fees for those with less than 4-6 weeks of working time.

Wedding party alterations start around $75, and we recommend starting the process 6-8 weeks before the event date. You will have two appointments, with rush fees incurred for less than 2 weeks of working time.
